We are seeking a working manager to lead both our finishing shop and paint supply store.
This is not a retail-only role. This position is for someone who understands professional coatings, spray finishing, and production workflow, and can also manage a customer-facing paint store.
You will be responsible for:
Delivering high-quality finishes in our shop
Managing daily store operations and sales
Leading a small team and maintaining production standards
Key Responsibilities
Finishing Shop (Primary Focus)
Manage all shop production (cabinets, furniture, specialty finishes)
Execute and oversee spray finishing (lacquer, waterborne, 2K coatings)
Maintain strict quality control standards
Schedule and manage workflow from intake to completion
Train and supervise shop team members
Maintain spray booth, equipment, and shop organization
Troubleshoot finish issues (adhesion, fisheyes, consistency, etc.)
Paint Store Operations
Manage daily store operations (open/close, POS, order management)
Assist customers (contractors, designers, homeowners)
Recommend proper coatings and systems based on project needs
Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked showroom
Track and manage inventory
Coordinate materials for upcoming jobs with production team
Required Experience (Non-Negotiable)
3+ years spray finishing experience (cabinet, millwork, or furniture)
Experience with lacquer, waterborne, or 2K coatings
Strong understanding of surface prep and finishing systems
Ability to diagnose and solve finishing problems
Strong organizational and accountability skills
Preferred Experience
Cabinet shop, millwork shop, or finishing shop background
Experience working for a coatings manufacturer or paint supplier
Team leadership or supervisory experience
Customer-facing or sales experience in coatings or construction
