The years fly by and sometimes being ahead gets replaced by being behind.
Bottom line is I have trusted the wrong people and now I need to start over. I have kids now, so it’s not like younger days. I am focused, determined and ravenous for opportunity.
My current industry is doomed. I want out. I want to build with my hands. I need to see what I have accomplished when it is complete. I prefer tangible results that I can point to with pride.
I am looking to work hands on for a residential contractor to learn as much as I can about the correct way of building and repairing houses. I have a wide range of experience over the years with putting in floors and walls, hanging sheetrock, fixing decks, and installing light electrical. I even have the 4 nccer electrical courses completed. I also have certifications for installing solar and the first PV design associate certifications if that’s worth anything.
All of this experience and education was in pursuit of the knowledge so that I could find a mentor or business partner and I could learn the hands on reality of everything from flipping houses to general contracting to be more independent and away from office work.
I am focused on the short term at the moment making market rates while learning. My interest in residential construction is for long term, so I will bring clarity and purpose with every job I do.
