The top is genuine White Oak, not red oak and not a photo layer. White oak is harder and more dimensionally stable than red oak, with a tighter, cleaner grain. The color is Gunstock, a warm medium brown that has been a standard in American homes for decades. It works with almost any wall color, hides everyday dirt between cleanings, and does not chase a trend that looks dated in five years.
The number that matters most here is the 3mm wear layer. A lot of engineered flooring at the home center runs a wear layer under 1mm, which can never be sanded. At 3mm you can sand and refinish this floor down the road if you ever want to change the color or freshen it up. That is solid-hardwood behavior at engineered-hardwood pricing.

The factory prefinish is cured harder than anything you can put on at the house, and it means no sanding, no fumes, and no waiting days for coats to dry. You install and walk on it the same day. The eased edges are a light micro-bevel that hides small height differences between boards and any minor waves in the subfloor, so the install is far more forgiving than a square-edge floor.
