but...
Our cats decided they really enjoyed the feel of the fabric under their claws and have done some real damage to the fabric (see photos). Cost to professionally recover is $2000 - $2500
Why are we getting rid of it instead of recovering? We recently moved and changed over to a sectional in our new home and no longer have a spot for this piece.
