The City of Charlottesville's Office of Economic Development is seeking an intern to work as part of a team dedicated to enhancing the long-term economic vitality of Charlottesville.

The intern will assist with special projects and have the opportunity to work on one or two specific strategic initiatives. In addition, the intern will have day-to-day exposure to economic development efforts including business attraction, business retention and expansion and entrepreneurial activities. The intern will have the opportunity to interact with other city departments, community organizations and the general public.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Planning, Public Administration, Finance or Economics and be working towards an advanced degree in one of these fields. Applicants should possess: basic computer literacy with ability to work in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access; knowledge and experience with GIS; ability to communicate in written and oral form, and a positive attitude.
