I'm really sorry you just don't get it. You want every one else to be accountable. The County Sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer for the county. He has deputies who do the patrolling, reporting and such. When it came to this accident, investigators were assigned. Their investigation did not show any criminal culpability. And yes, the Commonwealth Attorney's office was probably chomping at the bit wanting to prosecute, but when presented with the facts they declined.

So what's your problem with Sheriff Washington? I just don't understand your thinking. There were witnesses that were interviewed. Neither you nor I were there, so everything we know is 2nd or even 3rd or 4th hand or heard on the news or saw in the paper. Again, we were not there.

You want responsibility then lets go to the owner of the gun. Was the gun faulty or the design faulty or was the gun being handled wrong? Or was it just an accident?

I do know the courts issue gun permits. I also know that charges could be brought to the county attorneys office on the recommendation of the sheriff. If this is not addressed it sends the message that if I carry a loaded, malfunctioning gun and it goes off I'm not responsible. (Virginia has a reputation of having the worst gun laws) Next time it could be you mowing your lawn, but that's o.k "it's just an accident" At the very least the sheriff could go on record as to why he can't do anything to stop this terrible tragedy from happening again. Then we can move up the ladder to the next official that for what ever reason refuses to take a stand. staying quit in the wings is not the answer. Yes, it seems that civil court is the place to settle this. That was proven during the O.J Simpson trials.
You can get upset with me all you want, there has to be some accountability. sweeping this under the rug is not an option.

I'll leave the politics out of this, but what the hell does Sheriff Washington have to do with this? If you're going to shoot your mouth off then find out what is going on first. Concealed Weapon Permits are issued by the court system and the Virginia State Police has the overall power over them. The local sheriff's only responsibility in having a permit is doing the required background check as required by law. Once the Sheriff says pass or fail it goes to the court and the sheriff no longer has anything to do with it. Concealed Weapon Permits are controlled by state law which is the same law that said since this isn't a criminal case the sheriff has no jurisdiction.

Speaking hypothetically, Sheriff Washington may have the same exact feelings you do and while moralistically he would agree with you, by law he can't touch the permit, if the person even has one since you don't know.

Anyway your whole thinking process is skewed by attempting to be a jail house lawyer. And you wonder why gun owners cringe when people like you put your mouth in gear before the mind starts.

And yes, I believe it was a terrible terrible accident that while it did not have criminal culpability, it does have a moral culpability that civil torts would resolve.

Bush and Obama have caused this problem along with all the other hard core Republicans and Democrates. Stop the blame game and fix the problems. Let us Americans see what Congress is doing, no more closed doors, false promises and misrepresenting the facts to suit their own political BS. Republicans, stop degrading Democrats and Democrates, stop degrading Republicans. Get you asses in gear and find the best solutions for our country. If you can't then you need to leave before we throw you out. Pelosi, Reid and the gang of bandits that say they are doing what America wants, you can kiss my white ass.

We need to tell President Obama, stop hiding behind Rhom and David and speak for yourself. We elected you to do what is best for America as a whole, not what your political cronies think. To the person that seems to know the owner of the gator, that was the passenger in the accidental death of Mr. Giebel. I believe the death was an accident, but it definately showed poor judgement of gun safety in his vehicle. I believe he could show the community and the Giebel family his true remorse, by turning in any firearm permits he may possess. I know if i were involved in such a tragedy this would be easy for me. This would also allow the neighbors in the community to feel safe to go out of there homes when this man is traversing the community on his John Deere. This would also allow our elected officials (that are so reluctant to take action) to make a statement this man has turned in all permits without releasing his name. Everyone would breath a little easier. If he refuses to relinquish these permits it would tell me he isn't as distraught as you think.

I've been cheated on in 3 out of 4 relationships, I am scarred for life and lost all my trust. If you get cheated on, you should leave them instantly. You say you love her, well she doesn't love you back, she is using you as a tool. I was a victim of a cheater. I tried to make it work but it was never the same. I told her that I would never forgive her but not bring it up. She actually expected me to just forget the whole thing as if it never happened. She expected me to be the same loving caring sympathetic person that I was before she fucked one of the neighbors. I couldn't be that person. When you truly love someone you expect at the very least loyalty in return. Betrayal is not loyalty. I worked in an office with 15 women and nothing ever happened. I wouldn't do it. I looked. But I never even considered it. It was almost 6 years ago and I still don't trust her. It is not about the sex so much as it is about the betrayal of all that I contributed to creating a life for us. She knew that she was risking everything for another guys penis. The son of a bitch lived three doors down until two years ago. Everytime I saw him drive by I pictured the two of them. In hindsight I wish I had had the balls to leave at the time. I loved her too much and didn't want her to hurt the way I did.

If you love someone and you are thinking of cheating then talk to them. If they love you then the two of you will find a way to work through it. Once another guys dick enters the arena it is too late.

I am in a mediocre situation with a wound that will never heal. Mostly because my wife stillt thinks that it was just a daliance. Like forgetting to send in the car payment. I buy and sell stuff on craigslist. It used to be very easy, but now it seems that selling things has become difficult. For every legitimate person that responds to my posts I get about 8 that are fake spambots. This is crazy and it seems to have gotten much worse over the last few months. I don't know if it's because the economy is taking or not. Maybe all the 'work from home' ads are really solicitations to become spambots....

In any case I'm fed up! I can imagine there are plenty of other people out there, not just in Charlottesville, with the same problem. Something must be done! I would like to compile a list of all the spambot email addresses. Perhaps it can be posted so people know not to respond to these people, maybe we can have revenge by signing them up for a bunch of email lists, I don't know. Please help me come up with a plan and help me pool the emails of these spambots!!!!!!! Give the power back to the real people!

Obama surrounded himself with radical people in college where he went to school under the fake name of Barry Soetoro so we the tax payers would pay for his free edcuation. He now surrounds himself with even more radical people including tax cheats. His career started in the living room of 1960's bomber Bill Ayers and he was firmly entrenched in the Chicago mob scene. He sat in church and listened to Rev Wright spew anti white and anti USA hatred for 20 years and now is using what he learned there to destroy America! Obama wants to "fundementally change America" as he said in his campain speech. Do you still not understand what that means? Do you want to give up your rights as a free American? How I feel personally about the TG promqueen. I think it's wrong. I admit although I am fine with gay or bisexual people the whole TG thing confuses me. The other thing is I think diversity, being PC, accepting everyone, like everything else it's great in theory but it doesn't work. How long I wonder until it's officially a law? Really what it comes down to is it should just be respect all the way around - yeah in a perfect world, I know.

In the job market - I think I'll leave that debate alone, it should all be about who's the best person for the job, race, orientation, looks, tattoos should not be a part of it. If I owned a company I want the best workers who will make my company the best it can be. Who cares what color they are or who they love? If appearance is part of the job then some of those things affect it and a tattooed person is not the best for the job, deal with it. We make a choice we need to accept the consequences (yes I have a few tattoos)

I was at a family night last night @ Hill & Wood. Paying my respect to my family. When one of our relatives came inside. She had been upset from someone dying that we knew. And she goes to leave and her car is gone. She sees a Collier's Towing Truck hooking up to a car and she ask them if they had taken hers. They said yes. She told them that she couldn't find the machine to pay. The building says that the machine is in the middle of the lot however she looked and it wasn't. The Collier's Towing man told her where it was, not in the middle but on the right side. However they didn't care that we had just lost someone that we cared about. Then they tell her that it is going to be $125.00 to get it out. However everything was locked in her car and they refused to let her get her purse and she had to pay cash. They opened her car with her purse inside and her phone. How are we to know that these people didnt go thru her belongings and take something. We don't. However when waiting with her for her husband to pick her up. We watch the Collier's Towing Truck hook-up to someone else but then the lady showed up and they unhooked her car. She didn't pay and she left and the Collier's Tow Truck followed her out of the parking lot but in different directions. It's very Upsetting that we are mourning the loss of a family member and here we are disrespected. It's Uncalled for. They watched her walk away from her car and then waited until she had gone inside the building and they hooked it up and drove away. I WILL NEVER CALL COLLIER'S TOWING EVER! I WILL SIT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PAY 3 TIMES THE $ BEFORE I WOULD EVER CALL THEM.

He has now sent a follow-up email to his email list, which appears below.

Starbucks assured him of their support of the military and that the only reason any coffee was not donated was because the official Starbucks donation policy authorizes such gifts to officially designated public charities, including libraries and schools, and that the U.S. military or military personnel do not qualify.
It was not meant to be a comment on the war or the service of military personnel in the war.
The company said that there have been employees that have showed their support through donations of coffee.
Starbucks told us that many of the company's employees (called "partners" by Starbucks) receive one pound of free coffee each week and some of that coffee has gone to members of the military or related organizations.
For example, the employees in the Starbucks in Atascadero, California, decided to send their weekly free coffee to troops in Afghanistan and there are other such stories about Starbucks coffee finding its way into the hands of military personnel.

Here is Sgt. Wright's follow-up email after Starbucks spoke with him:

Dear Readers,

Almost 5 months ago I sent an e-mail to you my faithful friends. I did a wrong thing that needs to be cleared up. I heard by word of mouth about how Starbucks said they didn't support the war and all. I was having enough of that kind of talk and didn't do my research properly like I should have. A team of petty thieves seems to have struck my area. Would one of you women out there please explain this to me. I have been married 9 years. I thought my marriage was good. Not perfect but good. We had the typical situation. He meant taking away your freedoms and right to free speech and political desention. He hates America and all it stands for! He has always been a radical and follower of Sal Alinski. He went to Pakistan in 1980 under the name of Barry Soetoro. He lived in a radical Muslim country as a young man where his ideals were formed. He IS a Muslim and sometime in the near future he will make it clear to all. I can't prove he wasn't born in The USA but I don't personally believe he was.

His FCC diversity Czar has publicly bragged about how Hugo Chaves "democratically"(yeah right) took over his country and shut down the radio stations and free speech there. He thinks it needs to be done here. Others in Obama's staff worship Chairman Mao. He killed millions of his own people.

I'm moving the family to Mexico. I wrote to the White House:

Dear Mr. President Obama:

I'm planning to move my family and extended family into Mexico for my health, and I would like to ask you to assist me.

We're planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico and we'll need your help to make a few arrangements. We plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here. So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Calderon, that I'm on my way down?

Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:
1. Free medical care for my entire family.

2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.

3. Please print all Mexican government forms in English.

4. I want my grandkids to be taught Spanish by English-speaking (bi-lingual) teachers.

5. Tell their schools they need to include classes on American culture and history.

6. I want my grandkids to see the American flag on one of the flag poles at their school.

7. Please plan to feed my grandkids at school for both breakfast and lunch.

8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services and be able to vote.

9. I do plan to get a car and drive in Mexico, but, I don't plan to purchase car insurance, and I probably won't make any special effort to learn local traffic laws.

10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from their president to leave me alone, please be sure that every patrol car has at least one English-speaking officer.

11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put U S. flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want
any complaints or negative comments from the locals.

12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, or have any labor or tax laws enforced on any business I may start.

13. Please have the president tell all the Mexican people to be extremely nice and never say a critical thing about me or my family, or about the strain we might place on their economy.

14. I want to receive free food stamps.

15. Naturally, I'll expect free rent subsidies.

16. I'll need Income tax credits so although I don't pay Mexican Taxes, I'll receive money from the government.

17. Please arrange it so that the Mexican Gov't pays $ 4,500 to help me buy a new car.

18. Oh yes, I almost forgot, please enroll me free into the Mexican Social Security program so that I'll get a monthly income in retirement.

I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all his people who come to the U.S. from Mexico.

I am sure that President Calderon won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely.

I see your point, and it is true, but the point I was unsuccessfully trying to make was that minorities and majorities are relative to where you are. I was pointing towards how technologically advanced "minorities" are. Heck, the majority here wants minority built cars these days. You know the state of the "White folk's" car companies. We may be better in some aspects and they may be better in some aspects.

An American education does not really make you any smarter than someone educated in a comparable college overseas. The way the breeze is breezing around here claims that in USA minorities are dumber than white folks and that they are where they are because of EEOE. I say not. We all are people. A white person with the same educational background are no wiser or smarter than a black or brown fellow with the same education.

So compare apples to apples and not with some undereducated fellow who wanted to be and got to be a gangsta when they grew up. They be gangsta and stay gangsta and maybe they will complain about why they did not become the CEO of Amtrak or something. But we cannot be comparing them with all the minorities who actually got an education and went up those ladders.
