Dear Friend,
New City Arts Initiative is hosting “Taking it to the Streets”, a one day workshop on the power of the arts and artists in Community Transformation.
The Players
New City Arts Initiative is a collaboration of artists and churches to promote community development in Charlottesville. This is our first big event, and we are bringing the founders of Build a Bridge International (www.buildabridge.org) to town. This is a group that has international experience in teaching diverse artists to use their skills for the good of their community. They are very capable guides to help us think through what we would like to see occur in our city.
Our hope is for many different organizations, churches and individual artists to come together for the day, consider the tools at our disposal, and have a conversation about next steps in our city.
