Dear Friend,

New City Arts Initiative is hosting “Taking it to the Streets”, a one day workshop on the power of the arts and artists in Community Transformation.

The Players

New City Arts Initiative is a collaboration of artists and churches to promote community development in Charlottesville. This is our first big event, and we are bringing the founders of Build a Bridge International (www.buildabridge.org) to town. This is a group that has international experience in teaching diverse artists to use their skills for the good of their community. They are very capable guides to help us think through what we would like to see occur in our city.

Our hope is for many different organizations, churches and individual artists to come together for the day, consider the tools at our disposal, and have a conversation about next steps in our city.

We could use your help

Please consider being a Sponsor to cover food, travel and advertising. We are trying to

keep the price low for those attending. Consider a sponsorship of $100 or more.

Please help us get the word out. We want this to be city-wide and bring together people

from all perspectives who want to consider how to harness the arts for hope in families and

communities. Please consider marketing this event on your calendar, in your newsletter

and to your members or friends.

Please consider attending or sponsoring members of your organization to attend this

exciting event. This will be both a personal and professional development opportunity.

We hope this will be the beginning of a new friendship with the New City Arts Initiative.
